Military expenditure: How China, India compare with rest of the world
NEW DELHI: The global military spending surged to $1.9 trillion in 2019, a growth of 3.6 per cent from 2018, according to a report from Stockholm International Peace Research Institute. With $732 billion, the US is the largest spender followed by China and India. China’s military expenditure reached $261 billion in 2019, which is a 5.1 per cent increase from 2018. On the other hand, India’s expenditure grew by 6.8 per cent to $71.1 billion. Here's a look at the biggest spenders.
India has been forced into this mad arms race. China wants to match & deter the US and its aggressive expansionist policy needs a very strong military. India has no option but increase its spending too to deter China and tame rogue Pakistan. It is surrounded by Wolves in sheep's clothing. Jaii Hind
India spending $ 71 billion on military amazing,World third biggest spender . Where as Israel that has more enemies and hostile environment spend just 20 billions even many developed countries spend far less than India because they are part of NATO . India has no choice but keep on draining it’s wealth on military by participating in arms race with neighboring countries those can afford since they don’t import specially China every thing is made in China . Lesson to be learned the hostile country want India to live on the edge & continues military expenditure that will ultimately take a toll . Neglected Heath care , education , infrastructure projects . This is now a reality that India has never been able to bring out its population out of poverty .
The West is happy as long as thrid world countries are spending billions on military and not on education, poverty alleviation and health.

Relationship is always based on mutual respect.. Its not a one sided traffic.. Have u addressed the core issues or ur still maintaining ur stance.. So if ur not ready to change ur stance.. U can't blame others to change.. War otherwise have never resolved the problem.. It will always end up at negotiating table.. Provided one is ready to give space to other, problems can be resolved earlier
Though India is at position 3 but the fact is that India's major portion is spent on paying salaries & pension. Very little is spent on acquiring new weapons/technology.
That's why we should welcome privatization. Socialist policies only read good in books and fairy tales.
The bottom line is that not even a basic rifle is manufactured at home, they also have to be imported from abroad. Heavy equipment is more of a dream like Arjunk, Tejas or Naag etc for which wrestling is going on for 40 years.,

Wish India could spend half of that in boosting health infra. Alas the junta is fooled so easily via phool barsao
This report shows only the expenditure on military, it does not show the revenue generated from these "INVESTMENTS"..... it's the most profitable business for the US in any case.
